The Bobcat? chipper attachment grinds branches, trees, limbs, saplings, and other debris quickly, safely and easily and reduces the branch volume 10-to-1. With the ability to continuously chip materials up to 5-inches in diameter, the chipper attachment is ideal for tree removal, pruning services, municipalities, parks & recreation, rentals, and personal property maintenance.
How does it work?
A standard hydraulic power feed allows the feed roller to move branches into the chipper at a consistent speed, so the operator can work safely and efficiently. Unlike pull-type chippers, the Bobcat chipper attachment allows you to handle your chipping jobs virtually anywhere—even backyards and remote areas. The 5A Chipper provides a 5-inch feeder opening and can continuously chip material up to 3 inches (76.2 mm) in diameter. The 8B Chipper offers even more versatility, with a 9-inch feeder opening and the ability to continuously chip materials up to 5-inch in diameter.Features and Benefits
- Remote Attachment Control allows the operator to start and stop the loader and chipper from outside the machine.
- Dual mounting locations allow the intake housing to be mounted to either the front, or the right side of the machine allowing the chipper to accommodate different applications.
- Chipper discharge chute rotates 360 degrees in 22.5 degree increments providing a variety of discharge locations without repositioning of the chipper.
- Discharge chute has an adjustable deflector to reduce the distance the chips are thrown and deflect them into a desired work area.
- Variable speed roller gives the operator the ability to set the initial feeding speed and distribute power between the feed roller and grinding wheel.
- Operates with four tool-steel blades that are positioned at angles to provide optimum cutting performance and extended blade life. These blades are also reversible for twice the life between sharpening.
- The cutting wheel is made from a 1.25” steel to provide strength when cutting heavy material and to maintain momentum while cutting.
Operating Tip
- Feeding the cut end of the brush into the feed roller will provide smooth operation and reduce the chance of brush limbs catching on the edges of the feed table.
- Hydraulic power feed directs the branches into the chipper so the operator needs to only get the branches started; resulting in reduced fatigue of the operator.
- If chipping dry branches, alternate using green (fresh cut) branches to lubricate the chipper blades. This will provide a longer service life and reduce the frequency of blade sharpening.
- If brush gets caught in the feed chute, move the feed roller control lever to the reverse direction and dislodge the material.
